Case Summary:

Jeremy DMs a weekly game for a friend, his wife, and their 12 year old son. Jeremy has realized that he doesn't let anything bad happen to the kid in-game. Justice Murph invoked the "Murph in Magic The Gathering tournaments in mini-malls circa 2003" Defense; in which it's stated that sometimes you just have to kick a 10 year old's ass.

Verdict:

The justices primarily suggest that DM discuss this with the child's parents. However, they also agree that D&D is not fun when you are constantly succeeding and that it may foster a further enjoyment of the game if the DM can weave failures into the character's backstory or provide cinematic moments for the child to enjoy while providing motivation for future success.
